JEC Projects

Custom Remodeled Staircase and More (Early 2008)
This project involved taking an existing open stairway built in the 70's and converting it to a more traditional closed stairway with new custom oak hand rails. Project also included changing a half round fireplace opening into a full rectangular opening complete with travertine surround and hearth. Openings in a wall looking down on home entry area were shortened and custom glass panels were installed.
Custom Designed/Built Kitchen (Late 2007)
This fully custom kitchen remodel, was completed in a 1920's era Craftsmen style home. The kitchen was designed to mimic the architecture and furnishings of the style. A professional designer worked with the owners on every element. Tile was hand made by local artisans. A stain glass window was built specially for a spot over the sink. High quality current appliances were used to modernise the functions of the small kitchen. Pantry cabinets with glass fronts allow natural light into the area by way of small windows designed and built to line up behind cabinets. Oak flooring was installed to match the original flooring throughout the rest of house. A very nice project that JEC is proud to have been a part of.
Custom Home (2007)
Two story 3 bedroom 2.5 bath 1660 sq ft. home built in the City Heights area of San Diego. Built in a redevelopment area of the city, it was required to maintain existing architectural styles of the neighborhood and therefore was built with Spanish tile roof, wooden windows and doors, stucco siding with integrated stucco details like tile and preformed details. Large balcony is accessed through french doors.
Room Addition (Winter 2006-07)
This small room addition included extending out the living spake and kitchen area. A new tile room was also completed. No interior work was contracted.
Concrete Kitchen Counter (Late summer 2006)
This project was for a rustic older styled kitchen in which the client wanted a rough hand finished countertop.
Custom Pullout Shelving (Summer 2006)
Here is a small custom shelving project where we retrofitted existing kitchen cabinetry with roll out shelving.
Custom Bath (Spring 2006)
This custom bath project involved lots of small mosaic type tile. We opened a split room layout into one large bathroom giving it a much airier feeling.
Window to Door (Early 2006)
This was a small project where we simply installed a large french door where there used to be a window only. Electrical had to be re-routed that ran under the window, and stucco patching was necessary as well.
Kitchen and More (Winter 2005-06)
This was a large remodel project centering on a complete new kitchen. Other items included recessed lighting, hardwood floors thoughout, new gas line runs, electrical repairs, ceiling retextureing, and more. Unfortunetly no photos are available at this time.
MasterSuite 3 Project (Fall 2005)
This mastersuite project was more about the bathroom than the the suite, but some work was completed in the sleeping area as well. The existing bath was gutted and a new tiled shower stall was built including a granite top bench with travertine tile. The floor was tiled in the same travertine, and a new vanity, was installed. New wood doors were finished and installed in the walk in closet as well as bedroom entry. An exposed beam in the sleeping area was wrapped in new wood and hand carved and stained to provide a rustic finish to the room. (Sorry for the bad photos)
MasterSuite 2 Project (Summer 2005)
This mastersuite project is very similar to the previous one. It included combining two bedrooms into one, and building a large bath and walk-in closet. Jucuzzi tub, custom tile floors, tub decking, and shower surround. A pocket doorway was installed, and two new windows, a tall casement window, and a 7' bow window with casement flankers. A very nice project all around.
MasterSuite Project (Summer 2005)
In this project we combined two bedrooms to create a large mastersuite. We extended the small original master bath out and added a jacuzzi tub and his/hers vanities. Arched doorways connect the new bedroom space to the bathroom and a large walk-in closet.
Wooden Shade Structure (Spring 2005)
A large wooden shade structure was built to replace an aging smaller one. Main area of structure is completely roofed to allow for outdoor use even when raining. Extended area of structure constructed to shade other windows previously directly exposed to day time sunlight. Structure has large custom beam layout complete with corbels.
Custom Bath (Fall 2004)
This project was a full gut and remodel master bath. The partition wall was removed and a pocket door was installed to replace the original swing in door. The old worn out shower pan and tile, were replaced with custom tile with inlaid glass decorative tile and featured a recessed shampoo box. All new plumbing and fixtures were installed, and a high quality toilet, and pedistal sink were installed. New lighting and floor tile round out the project, as well as a custom paint job.
Wall & Shade Structure (Fall 2004)
Here we built a concrete block wall that was finished in stucco to match the existing spanish style home. It included an archway connected to the home with custom arched redwood gates, wrought iron topping on the wall, and a shade structure that was attached to the top of the wall and spanned across to the house.
Condo Galley Kitchen Remodel (Summer 2004)
A very small galley style kitchen is given a new life. Natural maple cabinets, complete with crown moulding. Ceramic tile flooring with border and inlaid design. All new plumbing and appliances.
Custom Built Wooden Garage Door (Spring 2004)
A completely custom designed and built, natural cedar and redwood 2-car california style (swing up) garage door. Complete with windows. This door adds an enormous increase of curb appeal, and can be built in roll up style doorways as well. Door is stained with a dark walnut finish.
